I did not set out to be an author. I was trained to be a software engineer. My transition to an author happened two years ago.
I was searching for picture books and adventure books based on Indian heritage for my daughters. But I could not find any that were of good quality. At that moment I decided that I would be the change I wished to see. I quit my ten-year career in Information Technology, and started a company called Umachi. Umachi was originally my husband's idea. He came up with the concept and strategy for writing these books for kids. I took his advice and made up my mind to write a series of books based on Indian heritage. My aim is to create these books in a contemporary format for today's kids.
The adventure books are thrilling mysteries which involve five kids (Super SAVERs). These kids try to prevent calamities happening at different parts of the world, with the help of Indian Gods. I have created a fan club page for the Super SAVERs where each kid talks about something cool in their area of interest.
The picture books contain mythological stories presented with bright and lively illustrations. There is a glossary in the end explaining difficult words. You will love the activity page in the end.
My hope is that Umachi books will make young readers like you optimistic and confident.
